September 11th was a very startling and awakening
moment. No one knew exactly how many lives would be lost, or how
much of the country would be directly impacted.
The United States as a whole bonded together,
which was an astonishing thing. President Bush performed
admirably, as did news coverage the following weeks.
However, constant mention and recollection have
gone overboard. Yes, loss of life was significant - but on a
historical scale, it was unsubstantial.
Americans
think too close-minded. We are not the only people on the face of
the earth. Americans are seen worldwide as arrogant, and stupid.
We expect other countries to feel sorry for us, while we really
have no concern for anyone else. America - yeah, we're selfish.
